(GivenUs.com) – Adversity lurks around every corner of all of our lives. It raises self-doubts that can make us seriously question our worth. But what would happen if you turned the tables and looked at adversity and hardships as a stepping stone for success?
Steve Harvey shares here how a tough childhood situation involving his father made him the man he is today.
How to Turn Bad Luck Into Better Days
- Remember that most problems are temporary. A bad experience does not equal a bad life. Almost all problems can be solved, so don’t be too hard on yourself. Ask yourself what you can do to turn a problem into a solution and build from there. There is nothing you can’t overcome, and this starts within.
- Write down what you really want. Visualization does breed success. If you’re struggling with not getting things done or missing the mark on moving up the corporate ladder, try writing your goal down. Visualize how that goal will look once you attain it. Like Harvey says, “Everything you see in your mind, you can hold in your hand.”
- Look to successful people for inspiration. Those who have risen from the ashes are an inspiration to us all. Steve Harvey himself was laughed at when his teacher said he wanted to be a TV star. But he held tight to his dream and kept a clear vision of the future while he struggled. Create your own principal of success and go for what you want in life.
Life can change in the blink of an eye — and it can knock you down with it. Remember that you don’t have to STAY down. Don’t let failure, negativity and opinions from others cloud your path to the top. You can be anything you want. This is your time, so keep chasing that dream.
