How to Be Kinder to Yourself

How to Be Kinder to Yourself

(GivenUs.com) – These days, with all the stress that can pile up, it can be easy to lose touch with your inner self. This may lead to an increase in self-destructive behaviors.

Psychiatrist Elizabeth Guinto shares her tips here on self-kindness and how to nurture your soul.

It’s time to step back, take a deep breath and offer yourself some true self-compassion. Here are some steps you can take to be kinder to be yourself:

  • Find the cause of your stress. Think of a situation that’s causing you anxiety and despair. Bring this image to the forefront and focus on how it makes you feel. To banish negative thinking, you must first understand what’s triggering it.
  • Hone in on its effects. Don’t deny how certain things make you feel. If you’re being hard on yourself because you gained some extra weight or you’re working through a breakup, grasp how this is affecting your life. Be mindful about it and address it head on.
  • Put your hands over your heart. What a blessing it is just to be alive and have so much to offer the world. Be kind to yourself by finding reasons to be grateful. Allow yourself to accept your flaws and learn to let go of the things you can’t control or change.

Be kinder to yourself to live a happier and more fulfilling life. Be strong and forgive. Find ways to be more self-aware and mindful. Most of all, learn to accept and love yourself exactly as you are.
